We are offering this role as a 6-month fixed-term contract. While the position is initially for a defined term, there is potential for this role to transition into a permanent opportunity based on business needs and individual performance.
This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Adelaide. (Hybrid/Remote).

Who We're Looking For
We need a strong senior cloud engineer who will:
Drive cloud modernisation initiatives with a focus on security, scalability, and operational excellence
Champion infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices and automated deployment processes
Mentor team members on cloud architecture patterns and DevOps practices
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Balance technical excellence with pragmatic solutions while maintaining high security and compliance standards
Stay current with cloud technology trends and continuously evaluate new Azure services and features
Technical Skills:
5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with deep expertise in Azure
Being very confident with:
Azure Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep)
Monitoring and logging solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights) Database administration and automation (Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL Server)
Container orchestration (AKS, Docker)
High availability and disaster recovery design patterns
Cloud cost optimisation and governance
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Federated Identity Providers
Azure Policy and Blueprint development
Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, CIS, SOC)
Site Reliability Engineering practices
Performance tuning and optimisation
Infrastructure security assessment tools
DevSecOps
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using Azure services
Work with the engineering leadership on establishing and maintaining security controls and compliance requirements
Optimise cloud resource utilisation and costs
Provide technical leadership in cloud architecture decisions
Create and maintain technical documentation for cloud infrastructure
Collaborate with development teams to implement DevOps practices and improve deployment processes
Implementation and maintenance of the Disaster Recovery process
Participate in on-call infrastructure support for Production incidents affecting infrastructure
Liaise with the Microsoft Azure Support team as required
