We're looking for reliable and motivated Museum Cleaning Attendants for part time work.
The Role
We are seeking polished, professional and customer-focused Cleaning Team Members to join our team at the prestigious Powerhouse Museum.
This is not a traditional cleaning role. As part of a world-class cultural institution, you will be highly visible to visitors and play an important role in creating an exceptional guest experience.
You will be responsible for maintaining immaculate presentation standards throughout the museum while interacting professionally and courteously with visitors, staff, stakeholders and VIP guests.
The successful candidates will take pride in their appearance, communicate confidently and understand the importance of delivering a premium visitor experience in a public-facing environment.
Roster: Part time 3 days per week, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Hospitality Industry (General) Award Level 3. Potential for permanent full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver a five-star standard of cleanliness throughout public and back-of-house areas
• Maintain presentation standards across galleries, exhibitions, amenities and visitor spaces
• Provide friendly and professional interactions with visitors and museum staff
• Respond to requests and enquiries courteously and professionally
• Monitor public areas and proactively identify presentation issues
• Follow strict cleaning, safety and heritage protection procedures
• Support the overall visitor experience through exceptional attention to detail
What We're Looking For
• Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, aviation, hotels, premium retail, museums, galleries or commercial cleaning
• Exceptional personal presentation and grooming standards
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence working in highly visible public environments
• A customer-first mindset with a professional and approachable manner
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards
• Experience operating cleaning equipment highly regarded
• Current Working With Children Check
• Valid Australian working rights
