Assetlink is launching an exciting new venture and is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead operations at a brand new, purpose-built facility currently under construction at the iconic Powerhouse Parramatta.
This is a rare opportunity to help bring one of Sydney’s most significant new cultural destinations to life. Working in collaboration with the NSW Government, this flagship venue will host a dynamic calendar of events, functions and experiences once its doors open.
We’re looking for a confident and capable operational leader who can deliver hotel-level presentation and service standards at scale, while managing a large and diverse workforce in a high-profile, high-visibility environment.
About the Role
As Venue Manager, you will take full operational ownership of the site, leading a team of more than 50 cleaning and housekeeping professionals to deliver exceptional standards across daily operations and major events.
From pre-opening planning through to live event delivery, you will play a critical role in shaping the team, building operational systems, and ensuring the venue launches with excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands how to operate within a government partnership framework.
You’ll help build the operation from the ground up — establishing processes, setting standards and creating a team culture that delivers consistently outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, manage and inspire a workforce of 50+ cleaning and housekeeping team members
• Recruit, onboard and develop staff to deliver premium, hotel-level presentation standards
• Ensure operational readiness for events, including pre-event preparation and post-event turnaround
• Implement quality assurance programs, inspections and service standards
• Manage workforce planning, rosters, productivity and performance
• Work closely with stakeholders, contractors and government representatives during the construction and commissioning phase
• Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability and service excellence
About You
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in hotel or venue operations, ideally in senior housekeeping, rooms division or operational leadership
• Proven ability to manage large teams (50+ staff) in fast-paced environments
• Experience working within government, public sector or highly regulated environments is highly regarded
• Strong background in events, hospitality or high-volume service environments
• Experience supporting pre-opening or newly launched venues will be highly valued
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• A confident and resilient leader who remains calm under pressure
