AssetFuture is an Australian owned built environment technology company. We are a leader in asset management optimisation through our condition and cost-based degradation models, with a lifecycle modelling approach that includes maintenance, renewal and replacement.

We are looking for a graduate / junior data analyst to join our data team on a full-time 6-month contract with possibility of extension to be data stewards as a pivotal, frontline role within the education, health and retirement living sectors. The graduate / junior data analyst will be responsible for transforming, validating, extracting, and analysing data with the objective of delivering insights to clinical and operational decision-making for clients and management.

With a firm grasp of the technology, the intention would be for the role to working alongside a team of 4 with an average tenure of over 5 years - develop skills on the job towards a sound understanding of the solution and value creation. With potential pathways into data analytics, data modelling and data engineering.

Analytical Skills: Confidence in working daily with large amounts of data in foreign data structures to extract, transform and load (ETL) the information as required.

Communication Skills: Must communicate methodology and findings clearly and concisely with team members and relevant colleagues.

Attention to Detail: The conclusions drawn from this data analysis will drive critical business decisions. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount.

Maths Skills: Understanding of basic statistical methods and when to use what.

Programming Skills: An understanding of programming logic, although no experience with a specific programming language is required. Familiarity with Python, R, SQL and Microsoft Excel will be an important part of the data analyst role.

Overall Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Comfortable working with clients, team members, and other stakeholders in the organisation
  • Can interpret, translate and apply their intent through data
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure
  • Able to take initiative and function independently after guidance
  • Demonstrates good communication skills
  • Background knowledge in building fabric and services preferable but not a requirement
